The area of the parish is 7.33 square kilometers. The church is at the village centre a mile and a half from Badsey. Farming and market gardening and transport of produce is the main local occupation; many commute from the village to nearby towns.

There is a post office/shop, village hall, garage, sports and social club and a Royal British Legion club. The National Trust owns The Fleece Inn, a popular tourist attraction, suffered serious fire damage in February 2005 and has now been completely restored. The Fleece Inn's own website gives details of opening times, menus and events. Three times a year the church holds auctions and church fete which are held at The Fleece Inn.

Bretforton First School (pupils aged 4-10) is a local authority school with no ex-officio governorship responsibility. Relationship with the church is excellent. There is an active and popular pre-school nursery group held in the village hall.

The Grade I listed church building is late 13th century with medieval and some later additions; it seats 140 and is usually left open.

Guide to stained glass windows.

There is a band of bell ringers and a flower guild and a church and brass cleaning rota.
